This time, it was the Kwanzan Cherry Blossom, which appeared to be straight out of a picture postcard.
1. Cut flowers and subshrubs last an average of 2-3 weeks of blooms in spring.
2. These are arguably hardier than other flowering cherry trees in that they are capable of withstanding cold conditions.
3. Moderate growth rate (12–24" per year).
4. Resistant to pests and diseases.
5. Offers seasonal shade and privacy.
Known as the Kwanzan Cherry Blossom or the Kwanza cherry tree, however, before becoming a part of the family, they are known simply as the Kwanza flowering cherry.
